Living with Love. Dying with Dignity
Death is universal. It happens to all of us. We believe having conversations about hospice palliative care- supported death can bring comfort and dignity to all. As a specialized form of healthcare, hospice palliative care aims to relieve suffering and improve the quality of life for those living with a life limiting illness, as well as their families. Hospice palliative care addresses the specific physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and practical issues, and their associated expectations, needs, hopes and fears on an individual basis (Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association)
Kay Blair Hospice is in the process of building a state-of-the-art twelve (12) bed hospice residence reflecting the unique and rich diversity of our Brampton community.
With tranquil land generously gifted by the City of Brampton, and with your financial support, together we can build now. Donate here now
End-of-life care in a home-like setting
According to Stats Canada, 70-80% of Canadians prefer to die at home. The reality is that most individuals die in hospitals without the peace, specialized care, or support that they and their loved ones deserve.
Kay Blair Hospice will provide 24-hour compassionate, and inclusive care in a home-like setting that fosters a sense of comfort, peace, and unconditional love at no cost to the individuals and families served.
Compassionate Care…. for ALL
*Over the last three years in Ontario, more than 20,000 people were transferred, or bypassed hospitals, directly to a Hospice Residence, saving 20,000 hospital bed days, and saving $199 million healthcare dollars.
